环状RNA(circular RNA, circRNA)成为近年来研究的热点,是继微小RNA(microRNA, miRNA)和长链非编码RNA(long non-coding RNA, lncRNA)之后一种新型非编码RNA。circRNA在细胞中广泛地表达,具有高度稳定及保守的特性。随着生物信息技术的快速发展,越来越多的circRNA被报道,并成为新的研究靶点。circRNA分子能够选择性地调节细胞转录、与miRNA相互作用等。circRNA的表达与多种疾病密切相关,一些circRNA可能通过调节miRNA的表达起到miRNA海绵的作用。miRNA是一类由长度约22个核苷酸组成的非编码单链RNA,它参与动、植物转录后基因表达的调控。circRNA-miRNA-mRNA网络是一些疾病的相关调节模式,circRNA可作为miRNA海绵发挥作用,并调节下游相关mRNA。本文中,我们讨论了目前对于circRNA的理解以及通过circRNA-miRNA-mRNA网络在疾病中的作用作一阐述。
