2004, 29(2): 101-103.
Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the success rate and reliability of creating global cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury model by obstructing the bilateral common carolid arteries and pressing the cervix and ventilating the mice in the artificial way and so on.Methods: Artificial respiration was performed using rodent micro-ventilator during the whole experiment course.ECG and EEG were detected carefully.EEG turnning to a straight line was used as the criterion of full cerebral ischemia.Pathological examination was performed in the cerebral cortex and hippocampe.Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine phosphokinase(CPK) were determined in the cerebral cortex. Results: EEG turned to a straight line after a few seconds of ischemia and didn't recover within 30 minutes of ishemic and 60 minutes of reperfusion. The LDH and CPK activity of ischemia and reperfusion group was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.01).CPK activity of reperfusion group was significantly lower than that of ischemia group(P<0.01).Pathologic examination showed that after 30 minutes of ischemia, the cells of cerebral cortex and hippocampe pyramid pyknosed,a small number of neurons degenerated and swelled. The above mentioned damage worsened after 60 minutes of reperfusion. Conclusions: This improved operative method is simple and practical. The global cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury is obvious in the model, with higher success rate and lower mortality.

2004, 29(2): 104-105.
Abstract:
Objective: To observe the effect of neurotrophin-3(NT-3) gene transfer on the function recovery of facial muscle denervation in rats. Methods: The model of facial nerve lesion was established in rats by cutting the marginal mandibular branch and buccal branches of facial nerve. The recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1(+)-NT-3 and DC-chol liposome admixture were injected into the muscles around the injured facial nerve.RT-PCR was adopted to confirm whether NT-3 cDNA expressed after the injection, and the movement of the rats'palp was observed. Results: The muscles were infected by injecting the DC-chol mediated NT-3 transfer and NT-3 gene was expressed. The movement of the rats'palp at the side injected NT-3 began to recover earlier than the control side. Conclusions: Transfer of NT-3 can promote the recovery of the function of the injured facial nerve by increasing local expression of exogenous NT-3.

Objective: To study whether the value of QT interval dispersion(QTd) increases along with precipitation of myocardial ischemia in transesophagus atrial pacing heart stress test. Methods: The QTd was measured in patients with coronary artery disease and normal subjects before stress test, during stress test, when the pacing heart rate achieved the maximum, the moment and two minutes after stress test. Results: QTd of the maximal pacing heart rate during stress test, the moment and two minutes after stress test increased significantly(P<0.01) compared with those before stress test in patients with cornary artery disease.QTd of the maximal pacing heart rate during stress test, the moment and two minutes after stress test did not increase significantly(P>0.05) compared with those before stress test in normal subjects. Conclusions: It suggests that increase of QTd might be used as an index to judge coronary artery disease in transesophagus atrial pacing heart stress test.

2004, 29(2): 176-178.
Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the significance of anti-DNP antibody, anti Smith antibody and anti-double stain DNA antibody in the patient with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Methods: Anti-Smith antibody was detected by immuno-blotting technique,anti-double stain DNA antibody by dot immunofiltration assay, and anti-DNP antibody by latex immunoassay. Results: Among the 57 cases, the positive rates of anti-DNP antibody,anti-Smith antibody, and anti-double stain DNA antibody were 73.7%,33.3% and 61.4%,respectively.The total positive rate was 94.7%.Conclusions: In diagnosing SLE,allied examination of anti-DNP antibody, anti Smith antibody,anti-double stain DNA antibody can upraise the positive rate. The above tests are important in tracing patient's condition and judging the prognosis of SLE.Detecting serum anti-DNP can directly improve the detection rate of SLE instead of LE cell(LEC) detection.
Correlation between acute myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction and serum uric acid
CUI Quan-yong
2004, 29(2): 178-179.
Abstract:
Objective: To study the relation between acute myocardial infarction(AMI),cerebral infarction(CI) and serum uric acid(UA).Methods: The serum uric acid of 36 patients with AMI and 48 patients with CI was determined and the results were compared with that of 40 normal controls. Results: The level of UA of patients with AMI(male 428.76±22.10 μmol/L;female 380.21±18.35 μmol/L) was markedly higher than that of normal controls(P<0.01).The level of UA of patients with CI(male 396.91±17.30 μmol/L;female 323.46±16.34 μmol/L) was also markedly higher than that of normal controls(P<0.01).The difference between group AMI and CI was significant(P<0.01).Conclusions: The increase of UA may be one of the risk factors for AMI and CI.
